I witnessed several fights between guests at this place. Also my phone was stolen. The police refused to do anything. Also a few guests with long-term illnesses had to go to Whipps Cross hospital for treatments, as gp's surgeries would not accept patients who live at Lea Bridge East. It seems that this place has such a bad reputation -guests in general are regarded as lowlifes! Prisoners get better treatment!

The room (or "cell") that I was given was so small that all 5ft 4 of me could touch touch both sides of the wall! The bed mattress on my bed was so thin, I could feel the metal bedframe through it - I suffered ages of back pain after this. When I was shown my room, the member of staff said "this is your room - we call this your "pod" How institional! I was then handed a ridiculous set of rules, such as "guests are not permitted to consume food in their rooms", whichI din't sign & put straight in the bin

Because there are a lot of dysfunctional people in Lea Bridge East, this "hotel" has a "no alcohol" policy. Nothing wrong with this, except that in this dreadful place:HOTEL STAFF ACTUALLY SEARCH GUESTS' BELONGINGS IF THEY SUSPECT A PERSON IS CARRYING BOOZE! LEGAL NOTE: THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO DO THIS & ARE JUST A BUNCH OF JUMPED-UP HOTEL RECEPTIONISTS - who think they are prison officers!!! No hotel, local authority-run or otherwise, ever operates like this (except under a dictatorship) I was sent here as a bed and breakfast tenant - not a person with alcohol/drug issues in a n institution

Welcome to HMP Lea Bridge East

LEA BRIDGE EAST HOTEL - I had the misfortune to be placed here by Kensington & Chelsea. That's right - on the other side of London! This is a place that looks like a prison - built around a central courtyard/reception/landing area with all the roos or "cells" built around it. It not only looks like a prison but as it houses a lot of ex-cons, actually behaves like one. As someone who has never been in trouble with the law - I wondered what I had done to deserve being placed in this hellhole.
